Entry Requirements
1. Applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens and meet the requirements stipulated in the JWH [2020] No. 12 Document issued by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Applicants shall be physically and mentally healthy and willing to abide by the laws and regulations of China and the regulations of Wuhan University.
2. Applicants for a doctoral degree should have a master’s degree or equivalent and be generally no older than 40 years of age.
3. Language Ability
Applicants for English-taught programs shall hold a TOEFL 80+, TOEFL Essential 8+ or IELTS 6.0+ certificate. Applicants whose mother tongue is English or who have previous degrees taught through the medium of English can be exempted from TOEFL, TOEFL Essential and IELTS if approved by Wuhan University.
4. Identity Verification of Ethnic Chinese
If one or both of the applicant’s parents are Chinese, or the applicant has emigrated from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan and acquired foreign nationality, according to the No. 12 Announcement of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (2020), they shall be naturalized for four years or more (before Apr. 30, 2025) and have more than two years of residence in foreign countries during this period (actual residence in a foreign country of more than nine months in a year can be calculated as one year, subject to the entry and exit stamps).
Applicants born in a foreign country are required to meet the above criteria and provide a personal birth certificate and the parents' nationality certificates.
Applicants who have completed the previous studies as international students in China，are not included in this regulation.

I am writing to apply china government scholarship programs. I believe that my motivation latter can illustrate, my studies, professional experience, and a genuine interest to study in the fields of Geospatial Information Technology.
I hold a three -year bachelor's degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from the Dire Dawa University (Ethiopia) in 2009. After graduating, I was among the top students in my classes because of this the minister of education of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia gives me the scholarship for postgraduate program in Addis Ababa University and I hold M.A.degree in Geography and Environmental studies specialized on (Natural Resources and Environmental Management) in 2011. It is my personal mission to motivate sustainable development my country, Ethiopia, as one of the way to achieve long-term economic growth. For this reason I would like to apply this programs, at Wuhan University because I strongly believe that these filed (Geospatial Information Technology ) studies can help me to achieve my ultimate goal to conduct a researcher and consultant my country for sustainable Social - economic development because Geospatial Information Technology and remote sensing tools can be used for solving real-world problems and complex issues concerning climate change assessments ,water resources management , urban planning, land resources, management and administration, from public service corporations etc . Inaddition to this if I graduated from this department I would be well skilled and professional lecturer in my institution (Madda walabu university ) and other Ethiopian universities because there is a lack of well skilled professionals in my country in this field of study.
My ultimate objective is to follow Master of Science degree course in Geospatial Information Technology taught entirely in English, plus living and breathing the international atmosphere and integrating with Chinese’s Language speaking people in order to develop and learn a third language Because these languages service the most important and worldwide for business, tourism and diplomacy, Excellence in research and teaching. I would like learning Chinese’s Language and get familiar with culture, and spread it around once I am back in my country. This is undoubtedly one of the motivations for studying in a country as multicultural as Chinese’s.
After completing this PhD program in china I would like to return to my county to conduct research, consult government and non-government organizations in my country and in the teaching and learning process to improve the education system in my institution (Madda walabu university), which will provide me the ability and confidence necessary to work and contribute with the sustainable development of my country (Ethiopia).
Considering all the factors above, I believe that the chosen study will benefit Ethiopia in general; I consider myself to be a good candidate for this programs because I am young, energetic, hardworking, visionary, and motivated person who believes that I can do something for the benefit of my country to whom I have been working. I did my best with all maximum efforts I could give for my institution. I believe that I can do much better if I am trained and developed through these programs.

Besides, PhD program applicants need to submit a brief introduction of research experiences.
